Pat Leitzen Fye . Living Well

Pat's journey has brought her to this place of caring, instructing, informing and transforming. Always one to be concerned for the wellbeing of others, certain life changes and challenges caused her to re-think, re-imagine, re-vision how she lives in this world. Her purpose. Her dharma.

What brought her here is a long story, but suffice to say the path she's on is one that keeps her strong, sane, healthy and happy (well, at least most of the time!).  And, gives her the wonderful opportunity to work with others who are searching for answers - who want to spend their days being as well, as content, and as peaceful as possible.

E-R.Y.T. 200

Pat has been practicing yoga off and on for about thirty years with a committed practice for the last fifteen years. She began teaching in 2008 and in 2012, she completed her training to be a Registered Yoga Teacher, as defined and sanctioned by the Yoga Alliance. Early in 2017 Pat attained the status of Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, or E-R.Y.T., having taught well over 1000 hours and completing numerous hours of continuing education. She also carries the Yoga Alliance Certification of Continuing Education Provider.

Her approach to teaching is both heart-centered and dharma-centered with a focus on alignment and the breath as well as her desire for all students to know the beauty of their practice and the strength of their own body/mind/spirit. When asked about her "style" of teaching she will simply say "I teach Yoga". Understanding that Asana is but one of the eight limbs of yoga, she draws on many traditions and cultures to design her classes and workshops, and believes that yoga, truly, is for every body.

Pat understands that her dharma is to share the knowledge and insights of living a yogic life. She has often taught series of classes to explore various aspects of Yoga, such as the Yamas and Niyamas, Meditation and Mindfulness, and Balancing the Chakras. Students enjoy her classes which are informed and inspired by Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, and Restorative Yoga.

Having spent many years and tears on her own body image issues, Pat believes very strongly that yoga is for EVERY body. All shapes and sizes, ages and genders, abilities and challenges can and do benefit from the amazing practice of yoga. She has long been a community partner with the Yoga and Body Image Coalition.

At Your Core Being we encourage and support the concept of inclusiveness and we all do our best to help each individual find ease, balancen and bliss in body.mind.spirit, through modifications, props and assistance.

“I find that my best epiphanies or insights come during or directly after meditation.

This morning on my cushion it came to me that perhaps I offend when I read or recite something at the end of a yoga class. Last night, for instance, I referred to Buddhism;

other times Islam or Native American teachings.

I draw from many, many resources as I believe that on our own spiritual/human path

there are many ways to travel and therefore many from whom we can learn.

So, just so you know, I draw from:

poets and blasphemes
authors and philosophers
maidens, mothers and crones

yogis and seekers
imams and shamans
priests and rabbis

monks and nuns

Native Americans and Druids

atheists and pagans
scientists and essayists
Buddha and Jesus
saints and Mother Teresa
the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras
and, and, and . . .

Knowledge is everywhere. Growth, insight, and enlightenment come from everywhere. Knowing yourself and your connection to God/the Divine/the Universe

comes both from inside yourself and from all that you gain from living in this world.

You need only open your heart.."

Integrative Health Coach

In 2012, Pat completed her training and certification as an Integrative Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

Her studies encompassed over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts, including Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. This education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. She draws on these skills and knowledge to work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

Pat espouses the concept of "Primary Food", those things that we take into our bodies that aren't food at all, and yet impact our health in ways sometimes subtle, often devastating. Things like our relationships, our children and family members, our work, stress, trauma, fears, joys, and celebrations that make a difference in our overall wellness. Her work with individuals is tailored to help each of her clients identify, obtain and meet their wellness goals through healthy choices and lifestyle changes.

You won't find pills, potions, and powders as part of your health coaching relationship with Pat. She believes in, embodies, encourages and motivates clients to eat Real Food and incorporate movement into their daily lives.  Real Food + Real Movement = Real Wellness.

Pat also designs and leads classes and seminars on health and wellness topics for delivery to business, community and social groups.  Issue-specific topics such as The Anti-Inflammatory Diet, Label Reading 101, Sugar Blues, and more. May she design a class to suit your needs?

This work is so important - perhaps now more than ever as more and more people succumb to illness and injury brought on by poor diet, not enough movement, stress overload, and fatigue. She works with people in ways that open up entire new possibilities to discover, honor and celebrate your core being.
